Art Appreciation at NCTC
This course will help foster a basic understanding of the arts and the means to articulate your knowledge. We begin by generating questions about the nature of art and our relationship to it. We then discuss the formal elements of design and ways to approach critique. We investigate artists, their creative process, materials, and possible motivations. We make or curate art– a fun and valuable extension of t experience. We do these things against the backdrop of a non-chronological survey of world art, both past and present. Finally, we use our new vocabulary to write about topics important to us– and to muse, perhaps, about art's purpose, for society and self.
Advanced Lighting Techniques at UNT
Course Outcomes:
1. A strong understanding of the principals, logistics, and techniques of lighting
2. Application of knowledge to personal and professional work
3. A bound portfolio of work completed in this class
